Five Most Important Traits of a Successful Event Management Platform

Last Updated on October 7, 2021

Today’s we’re going to be taking a look at Bizzabo – an Israeli developed networking and event management app, which last month managed to acquire $2.5 million in funding from a group of investors in the event industry.  We’re not terribly interested in the details of that deal – rather, we’re going to take a look at what it was that made Bizzabo such an attractive choice for these investors.

What is it about Bizzabo that gives it so much potential as an event management tool?  What differentiates it from so many others on the ‘net?  In short, we’re interested in one thing – what are the traits of a successful event management platform?

Information

So much of event management involves the management of information – registration numbers, survey details, budgeting, scheduling; you get the drift. For this reason, any event planning tool that doesn’t include some streamlined, intuitive means of arranging and organizing this information isn’t really worth using.

Connectivity

One of Bizzabo’s best traits is that it goes beyond being a simple scheduling app – it directly connects attendees, organizers, and event staff with one another through its interface.  People can make use of the tool to find out about upcoming events in the area, event planners can use it to connect with sponsors and vendors, and different firms can share thoughts and ideas with one another. In short, Bizzabo – and other apps like it – are more than just tools; they’re platforms which form the foundation of a community.

Accessibility

There’s a reason the majority of event management applications are cloud-enabled. See, since event planners are always on the move, they need to be able to access their toolkit no matter where they are. As such, if they don’t have a tool that’s enabled for use on Smartphones – and accessible wherever they are – they may as well not be using it as all.

Ease Of Use

Event management is a busy profession – meaning that event planners don’t really have the time to wrestle with obtuse interfaces or fight their way through difficult-to-learn systems. They need a platform that works the moment they open it. If an event management tool isn’t intuitive, it’s effectively useless.

An All-In-One Solution

Last, but certainly not least, the majority of event management tools today function as far more than just collaborative or scheduling apps. They generally feature additional functionality such as analytics software, floor planning, and registration. Again, this is tied to streamlining – it’s far easier to use one application than a whole suite of them.

It’s All About Your Toolkit

No two event management tools are created equal. As an event planner, it’s up to you to decide which one you utilize to help you run your events. Just remember – if a particular platform doesn’t possess all five of the traits on this list, you should probably just keep looking.
