3 Ways to Get Likes on Your Facebook Event Page

Last Updated on October 7, 2021

You’ve created a Facebook Event Page and now you need ‘likes.’ The only problem is that likes don’t magically appear by themselves (at least not usually). It’s starting to feel like a party where nobody is showing up.

Every new ‘like’ is a promotion for your event by someone other than you! This type of authentic support is priceless, but you may need to work for it.  There are many different ways of getting people to like your Facebook Event Page, but here are the 3 most tried and true methods on how to get more likes on Facebook.

Promote Everywhere

Don’t expect people to just stumble into your Facebook event page. Get out there and tell them about it. Promote your page everywhere you go, both online and off. This includes your website, other social media channels (and of course, Facebook), in your email signature and on other marketing materials and everywhere you are offline.

Don’t just say ‘visit us on Facebook.’ When promoting your event’s value, give people the link and tell them to ‘click here’ (you can create a direct link on your site to your Facebook Event Page by installing a plug-in or hand out QR codes offline.) And don’t forget, suggest your attendees like the event as well.

Take away: be specific with your directions and include a reason they should like your event.

Interact with Your Likers

Interact with anyone who likes, posts, or shares your event page. You can comment on their posts or email them directly with a personal thank you. At the very least, browse their wall or pages and like a few items of their content in return.

Whenever interacting with anyone through your event page, don’t be promotional. Focus on providing them useful information and then you may not have or offer your assistance if any issues arise. See them as friends, not potential customers.

Get into a routine of regular updates and pay attention to which types of content get the most engagement. Regular updates create additional opportunities for your community to like and promote your event.

Bribe People

If you really want to see your likes climb, come right out and bribe people by offering a small incentive. For liking your event, they get a gift or discount. Remember that this doesn’t have to be a physical product, which can be costly. You can offer a digital product, a discount on event fees or online goods, exclusive content, or a free trial or membership for liking your page.

Hint: You can double your efforts by offering another reward for the friends they tell about your event.

Getting liked is just half the battle. Once you have event followers, you need to keep them engaged with good, valuable content and personal interaction.
