Seven of the Greatest Event Venues In The World

Last Updated on October 7, 2021

It goes without saying that no two venues are exactly the same, and not all event sites are created entirely equal. Today, we’re going to take the time to give a nod to the top places to throw an event.

These locales are the best of the best. They’re the living legends of event management; they’re the places where everyone wishes they could host. Chances are you’ve heard about at least one of these places in passing – some of the biggest events of the past decade have been hosted within their walls, after all.

Madison Square Garden

We’ll start with one that I’m absolutely certain everyone knows: the famous Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan. Situated atop Pennsylvania Station, the garden rests in close proximity to a whole host of iconic New York landmarks, in addition to being part of a larger office and retail complex. It’s also considered to be one of the oldest and most active major sporting facilities in New York. Sports definitely aren’t all it’s good for, of course: MSG has hosted concerts, boxing, ice shows, circuses, and a huge variety of other entertainment.

The Vancouver Convention Center

This award-winning facility is situated in downtown Vancouver, and boasts a downright beautiful view of the city’s waterfront. The venue’s among the world’s leading conference centers due to its high-quality banqueting, excellent services, and top-notch technical capacity. The foundation has a built-in marine habitat, while the roof consists of a beautiful six acres of grass and plant life.

St. Regis Bal Harbour (Miami Beach, Florida)

Although St. Regis Bal Harbour is a fairly new building (it was constructed in 2012), it’s no less impressive for it. Built with a view of Miami Beach’s northern fringe, the glass tower was designed by George Yabu and hosts the 7,800 square foot Astor Ballroom and four incredibly high-tech conference rooms. The facility is within shouting distance of the beach and some of the city’s best nightclubs, and contains one of the best restaurants in the area, to boot.

Moscone Center

The Moscone Center is the largest convention center in San Francisco, and may be one of the largest in the world, as well. Moscone’s known for hosting some of the world’s largest technology conferences, including VMworld, Macworld Expo, The Game Developer’s Conference, and Google I/O. With three main halls in which to host events (Moscone North And Moscone South are both underneath Yerba Buena Gardens, and the three-Story Moscone West exhibition hall is just across the street), it’s surely an impressive sight, made even more so by the solar panels on the roof of the center, which provides power to around 8,500 homes.

The Las Vegas Convention Center

One of the most notable things about the Las Vegas Convention Center is that this is the place where The Beatles performed. It also happens to be the largest single-level convention center in the world, with over 10,000,000 square feet of exhibit and meeting space. Not only that, it’s soon due to get even bigger, with an $890 million expansion planned for the near future. This expansion will add more pedestrian access, on-site fire and police facilities, a concourse linking the three halls, and a massive meeting room spanning the South Hall.

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center

If you’re looking for a venue across the sea, a great choice is the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Linked by covered walkways to a wide variety of different buildings (including hotels); the center’s built along the beautiful Victoria Harbor. If you plan to travel to China, it’s the perfect place to hold a banquet, conference, or trade show. Oh, did I mention it’s also within walking distance of China’s business district?

Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center

Last but certainly not least, this world-class facility is located at the heart of Dubai, and acts as one of the hubs of the regions busiest commercial districts. It’s located in close proximity to the airport, and boasts around one million square feet of flexible space suitable for any conference, banquet, trade show, or meeting you could possibly dream up.
