1Q22: Social Media Hub & Web Form Enhancements, LinkedIn Integration, RSS Feed Support & Image Optimization

Published on April 4, 2022

The first quarter of 2022 brought significant enhancements to the Everwall platform, with a focus on expanding integration options, improving visual display features, and giving event professionals more control over their social content. Here’s what’s new:

Social Media Hub Functionality Expansion

We’ve enhanced our Social Media Hub capabilities to give you more flexibility and control:

  • Improved iframe Support: Better embedding options make it easier to incorporate social walls into your existing websites and platforms
  • Custom Event Callbacks: Support for custom callbacks after various events (page loading, posts loading, etc.) on both social media hubs and event social walls
  • Enhanced Carousel Options: New autoplay settings give you more control over how content rotates through your displays

Web Form Enhancements

Making user-generated content submission more intuitive and secure:

  • Image Preview & Rotation: Users can now see thumbnails of their images before submitting and rotate or mirror them if needed
  • Advanced Throttling Controls: Improved mechanisms to prevent spam and abusive posts, keeping your social walls clean and relevant

LinkedIn Integration

One of our most requested features is here:

  • LinkedIn Content Support: Display LinkedIn posts alongside your other social media content on walls and hubs
  • Profile Attribution: Proper linking and attribution for LinkedIn content so users can click through to the poster’s profile or directly to the post

RSS Feed Support

New ways to distribute and integrate content:

  • Social Wall RSS Generation: Create RSS feeds directly from your social walls, making it easy to share content with third-party tools (Example: https://kittens.everwall.com/feeds/posts.rss)
  • Enhanced RSS Content Source: Upgraded support for Atom feeds and improved media extraction from RSS sources

Image Optimization

Better visual experiences across all devices:

  • Retina Display Support: Sharper, clearer images on high-resolution displays
  • Customization Options: New image border and radius settings for a more tailored visual experience for Social Media Hubs
  • Preloading Improvements: Smoother image loading with preloading capabilities before rendering posts on Event Social Walls and Social Media Hubs

These Q1 updates represent our ongoing commitment to providing event professionals with powerful, flexible social media display solutions. Whether you’re managing virtual, hybrid, or in-person events, these new features will help you create more engaging and visually appealing social experiences.
