Significant Speed and Stability Improvements
Published on May 3, 2019
Yesterday we rolled out a significant improvement to real-time connection systems that power our social walls that reduced latency, errors, and reconnections.
Most of the improvements gained were due to one notable and unexpected thing we saw—an immediate reduction to the number of dropped connections and reconnects.
Because we were no longer erroneously causing reconnects, our concurrent connections was reduced by 8x and latency has significantly improved.

Not only did improving our websocket systems giving us all of these benefits, we also turned on Cloudflare’s Argo Smart Routing offering to speed up how fast data from our website and social walls get from our servers to you.
In regions where we do not have local servers (basically, anywhere outside of the US and EU) our customers and website visitors should now see faster speeds.

Today we launched a significant amount of changes to the Wall Content page of the builder. Among the changes were better navigation for editing and deleting content sources, like Twitter and Instagram. And cleaned up the filtering section to be more navigable.
Today we rolled out a number of changes to Polling, primarily targeted to support future features, and providing a few nice options for our Full Service team now. Our API now supports the ability for custom integrations to log votes for categories in a poll. In other words, we can now build touch screen voting into your full service walls, so your guests don’t need to vote via Twitter or Instagram. They can use iPads / Tablets / Touch Screens to vote.
