How to Show or Hide a Poll on your Social Wall

In Everwall, you can easily show or hide polls on your social wall. This allows you to manage when polls are visible to your audience in real time, offering flexibility in engagement.

A poll does not need to be active to show it on your social wall, and showing it on your social wall does not make it active by default. In the setup of the Poll there is a section that asks you for the date and times that you want the poll to be active. When determining if a post should be checked to see if will be applied to a poll, we look at the posts original timestamp and see if it’s in a window for any of your active polls, and if it is, then the vote is counted. A single post can vote in multiple polls if the active periods overlap and they are looking for the same categories.

Please note: you can only show one poll at a time on your social wall. You can however have many polls that are active at the same time.

Additionally, when setting up a poll, in the Voting Method section you can specify how people can vote. If you pick either of the two options that mention Everwall Direct, then people can vote by going to the web form and viewing the active polls and voting. Polls are only shown in that section if it’s currently in between the active start time and finish time. If it’s outside of that time window it will not be shown, unless you are actively showing that poll on the social wall. If you are showing the poll on the social wall, people can view, but not vote, on the poll being shown on your social wall.

How To Show or Hide a Poll on Your Social Wall

Step 1: Click the Polls on the sidebar menu to see the list of polls you’ve created. If you don’t have any yet, you can create it by clicking the New Poll button on the top right.

Step 2: Select which poll you wish to display and click the Show on Wall button.

Step 3: An orange flag will be shown to indicate that this particular poll is currently displayed on the wall, and for this case, the button will say Hide from Wall instead.

Step 4: A green flag will also be displayed to indicate that this particular poll is actively running and accepting new votes. While a black flag is displayed to show inactive polls.

How to Hide a Poll

Step 1: You can only hide a poll if it’s currently being displayed on your wall. Simply click the Hide from Wall button to remove the poll on your social wall. Even though it will not be displayed on your wall, it will still be shown in the list of active walls since polls do not need to be visible on-screen to remain active. You can choose to display them only when you want people to see the results.
